On the last day before the Grandmas went home we went and explored the Houston Zoo. We were there for 7 hours and still did not see everything that lives there. That place is so big! The kids had a blast and hopefully the Grandmas did too :-)
The picture of this bird does not do it justice. It was huge and looked like it lived with the dinosaurs.
Cutie Pie!
Another bird that belonged with the dinosaurs
These two are so adorable together!
They had an animal petting station. Kenna spent most of her time there giving all of the animals hugs, because obviously they need them. lol
Coolest part of the day by far, getting to feed the giraffes!
Both of the kiddos gave away the lettuce so fast I couldn't get a picture. oh well.
This picture doesn't do it justice, the giraffes were so close one almost licked my hair while I was standing there.
I spy a lion.. .
Carter and Brandin playing some awesome music for us!
This picture doesn't look very good because of the glare of the class, but the only thing between Kenna and a massive gorilla is a thin piece of glass. It was so cool to see this big guy up so close!
The Grandma's (my mil and her mom) hanging out in the shade.
Carter was so excited the whole day to go see the cougars because BYU's mascot is the cougars, and now Carters school Keith's mascot is also a Cougar. Sadly they slept while we were there and all you could really see was a tail.
This guy was hilarious. I have a video of him but I'm not sure how to get it on here. The zoo worker had food for him and made him do tricks to earn the food. He did not want to do the tricks and just kept holding his hand out to have food thrown at him.
This guy was creeping my mil and only moved to watch her. He didn't care about the rest of us.
One of the aquariums had a small tunnel for kids to go through and have fish all around them. I think out of everything at the zoo this was the hardest to pull them away from. They thought it was awesome!
