I feel like lately all I do is title my posts "catching up". This past month has been INSANE, and it is about to get even crazier! In March I had my brother come and visit for a week, my good friend Shauna visit from Arizona for a week, and so much more! I finally have all of the pediatrician/dental/hematologist/hospital appointments OVER with! Everyone is all caught up and we don't have to go to the Dr again until Kenna's 18 month check up somewhere in Houston once I find a Dr there! What a relief!
I had a bone marrow biopsy 2 weeks ago, and this year I was much more prepared than I was last year when they originally sprung it on me and I had no idea what was going on. My mother in Law was so sweet and came and spent a couple of days taking care of my kiddos while I slept away the days in a drug induced coma. The procedure itself was horrible. There was a nerve they were not able to deaden no matter how many shots of pain killers they gave me. (which was so much that I couldn't even sit up for 30 min after they were done because my head was spinning. They finally brought me a wheelchair just to get me to the car) When doing a bone marrow biopsy they need to drill 2 holes into my hip bone, one for a sample of the bone itself, and another for a sample of my bone marrow. For some reason they had a hard time getting samples, and they ended up drilling 4 holes before they were able to get what they needed. Since I am on a baby aspirin every day, they also had a really hard time getting the incision to stop bleeding. (another reason they wouldn't let me leave right after they were done)
I spent a good 2 days laying in bed doing nothing, and then after that worked up to sitting and standing. 2 weeks later I feel much better, and only have a bruised feeling where they drilled. Once my mom in law left to go back to her responsibilities, the Relief Society was so nice and brought our family dinners for 4 days so I wouldn't have to get up.
The depressing news we learned at this visit is that we had originally thought that after 2 years I would get a chance to go off the chemo pills and see how my platelets do, but we have now been told that my chemo pills are going to have to be everyday for life to keep my platelets down. Sad day. I was a little shocked when they told me, but I am working on accepting it and putting less thought towards stressing over it.
The more exciting news is that Brandin Graduates in 2 weeks!!! I feel like we have been here FOREVER (4 years, so basically forever ha ha) and none of this really feels real. We have talked about it for so long it still feels like just talk. I am so excited to begin the next step and head to Houston! We are taking our time, enjoying spending time together as a family, and will take a week and a half to get there. We are detouring to Colorado to say good bye to family, Then down to Phoenix to visit friends, and then over to Houston!
Then a whole different kind of crazy will start. Brandin at a new job, our family in a new city/state, and our house being built!!! It is coming along, and I am so excited to get my kiddos into separate bedrooms! Oh yeah, and for a dishwasher, washer/dryer, AC ( no wymount does not have any of those), and a backyard! I don't think we are going to know what to do with ourselves! ha ha. We will also have a spare bedroom. . . so please come and visit us!!!!! :)
So crazy to think in a couple of months we will be living here! The brick is suppose to be put on next week!
Kenna decided I make a great pillow. ha ha.
So cute watching a movie together. I promise it was not a scary one, they were both yawning at the same time! lol
Her hair is finally long enough to put a clip in! I am so excited!!!
