Carter goes to Kindergarten

 My baby is in school! How crazy is that?!? Carter started kindergarten today (8/24/15) and was so excited and nervous. Brandin promised Carter a toy of his choosing if Carter would go to class without hanging on me or him. Carter did great! We are now 3 hours in and the principal hasn't called me yet, so I am feeling good! ha ha. We got there almost an hour before school started because I was told it would be crazy, and boy was it! We were lucky enough to get a parking spot, but those that showed up 10 min after us did not. Now tomorrow we see if Carter can handle the bus!

Carter's Transformer Birthday Party

 My little boy turned 6! how did that happen? Pretty sure he should still be 3. ha ha. This year Carter decided on Transformers for his party, so I got to pinteresting.  (not a word, but it should be) Thankfully there are a lot of free printables online, which makes my life easier. We just moved here 3 months ago, and know pretty much no one, so we invited all of the kids in Carter's primary class and their families. I had a couple rsvp's, but by the end we had a few more people than I had anticipated, (almost 40 including all of the kids) which was awesome! Even though these people barely know us, they sacrificed their Sat and bought my child a toy and came and hung out for a couple hours. It was so much fun!

Beach fun!

 We went with the Tanners to the beach for the day! So much fun, and totally worth the hour drive. We went to a beach that allows you to drive right up to the beach, and have your car there so you don't have to haul coolers or anything in. So easy! Makes the beach that much more fun! We even brought Piper along, although she was content hanging out in the shade of the car. ha ha.

4th of July Fun!

 Brandin had a 3 day weekend, thank you 4th of July, so we decided to firework our weekend up! On the 3rd of July we went and bought fireworks and Carter and Brandin had a blast setting them off in front of our house. We let Kenna hold a sparkler (with supervision of course) and she loved it so much she went through 5-6 of them. 

For the 4th of July we went into Houston and went to "Freedom over Texas" event, and let me tell you, it was AMAZING!!! It cost 10 bucks for me, and 10 for Brandin, and the kiddos were free. Once inside all of the rides were all free, and they were handing out a lot of soda's and other drinks for free. We were able to go and do whatever we wanted, and the lines were not even that crazy! They also had a lot of war memorabilia, and other things like animal balloons and face/hair painting all included in the 10 bucks. We got there at 4 when it opens and didn't get out of there until 11. In the evening they had Clint Black and Josh Turner performing, and then the most impressive firework show I have ever seen, no joke. Every Second of the show felt like it could have been the finale and it went on for 30 min, all synchronized to music.  I was not expecting anything that impressive. I can't wait to go back next year!!
