On our way out of Phoenix there was an Ostrich farm, so we decided to stop and check it out. They had cute little animals you could feed, like goats, donkeys, deer, and adorable birds!
These birds were awesome. You had a cup of nectar you hold in your hand, and the birds will climb on your hand, pry off the lid, and drink the liquid! They were so much fun!
Once we left there we headed to our hotel in Deming, NM for the night. (and we had to stop and see The THING on the way of course) and the next day we traveled on to Fort Stockton Tx. During our drive there there was a CRAZY storm that was so bad we couldn't see the road, and the hail was so bad it busted up some cars windshields. We had a hard time getting into town (since we couldn't see where we were going) and there was so much rain the roads were FLOODED and the inside of our car ended up getting soaked while we were trying to drive through the river (aka the road) and we ended up getting stuck in an Auto Zone parking lot until the storm passed. When we finally made it to our hotel we found out that our room was flooded! And we couldn't change because it was the only available room in the hotel. Good thing we had a reservation! We tried calling around the town to other hotels, but everyone was sold out due to the storm. So we slept in a very wet room, and I accidentally left Kenna's luggage on the floor somehow during the night, so all of her clothes were soaked and musty smelling :( The next day there were rocks and debris all over the road. So crazy! Once we left there we headed on to San Antonio. The next day we went to the wildlife safari adventure! So worth the money. The kids loved it and we made some awesome animal friends!
