First walk of the year

Today was one of the first days where the temps hit the 30's and the sun was out, so we took full advantage! We spent a whole 20 min outside today, which is the most that I have done since November! lol. And totally not a joke, sadly the truth. I am one sissy girl.

Oh yeah, and here I am at 37 weeks. Only 3 weeks or less. Yea!!!

Carter showing Brandin something.

Carter wanted to bring his scooter on our walk, so most of my picts are from behind watching him ride away.

Crazy lil boy playing in the water.

Carter asking Brandin to please come sit by him in the shadows where it was much colder. That didn't last very long ;)

I was trying to get all of our faces in the pict, and Brandin and Carter were looking at the screen instead of the lens. .  family photo fail! :)

Carter-isms at 4 1/2

This little boy is FULL of energy, and no one will argue that if they have spent even a couple minutes around him. :) I realized that I haven't been writing down any of his silly little quirks, and I don't want to forget them, so I'm going to do my best to write them down as they happen.

Lately Brandin and I have discovered that Carter can do math in his head, but struggles if he has to try and do it visually. For example, if we ask him what is 2+3? He will think for a sec and then answer 5. There are some games on my phone where he has to take 3 balls and 2 balls and put them together, and he struggles a little getting the right answer. It's like the ball counting is slowing him down.

So I am kind of a clean freak, not so much that I let it rule my life, but enough that the only way I feel like relaxing is when the house is clean, if that makes any sense. Well I'm pretty sure that I am raising my son to be the exact same way. He can't handle his hands/face being dirty, he (usually) does a really good job of cleaning his room, and not just picking up his toys, but putting them in the correct spot as well. Bishop gave him a sucker after church, and Carter decided that he didn't want to eat it all at that moment. So instead of being like any other 4 yr old and throwing it down wherever he was and going on with life, he goes to to kitchen, gets a ziploc baggie, and puts his sucker in it to keep the germs off so he can have it for later. Brandin just looked at me, shook his head, and said, what have you done to my son? lol

Lately his best friend is his stuffed puppy that he loves more than anyone/thing else. His imagination goes crazy with this little animal, even to the point that they get into fights and I have to put puppy in timeout because he said something mean to Carter. ha ha. Carter forgot puppy in the car tonight, and was frantic to get back out and get him because puppy was so cold and lonely in the car.

I think I already wrote about this one months ago, but I can't remember, so you might be reading this twice :) Brandin asked Carter what he wanted to be, and Carter immediately responded, "a Doctor" Why? Because he wants to make sick people well. This has been the only response we get when we ask him, and it's been going on for over 6 months now.

So tonight when it was getting close to Carter's bedtime, he freaked out a threw a temper tantrum. My prego hormones cant handle that and I sent him to his room. He cried and cried, and eventually called from hims room, " I have to read scriptures and pray before I go to bed, Jesus will be really sad if I don't" How do you respond to that. Brandin just looked and me and said, well, he's got a point, and we laughed and did scriptures and prayer with him.

Carter was playing in his room the other day and Brandin and I were listening to him. He has a couple minion toys, and we overheard him saying that one of the minions was sick, so Jesus Minion came to help. :)

random going-on-ness

Nothing too crazy going on here, just day to day life. I was starting a collection of random picts, so I decided I should prob get them on here before I forgot about them :)

Carter playing jenga, he was afraid he was going to make it fall.

Playing connect 4 all alone. lol. poor boy. Although he is always guaranteed to win ;)

So proud of himself for getting the block out all by himself!

Family pict!

The huge belly. 28 days or less people!!! Yea!!!

Carter and his newest beloved, spot, from the Dr. Suess books.

He thought he would be funny and take a pict of me while I was taking picts of him.

Now that the holidays are over, my corner by the front door has been bare, and I finally put some things in the basket so it didn't have to be so lonely.

I don't know what happened to all the burp rags that I had for Carter, so I decided to make new ones myself. What do you think?

And while I was at it I made some nursing pads too. Those things are so EXPENSIVE, to buy reusables, or disposables. I made 9 sets and the burp rags for $9.50. So much cheaper!

Brandin was able to put the hooks on the hair clip holder, so now all of her headbands that I have been making have a home too :) Yeah for crafting!!!

Temple Lights and New Years Eve

This year we kept New Years Eve pretty simple. We had the Greens over and made pizza and played games. By the time midnight came around Carter was so wired! (Thats what happens when he gets tired)

Carter and Ben blowing their party favors in Brandin's face.

Brandin hanging out getting ready to watch the ball drop.

The night before we had gone to see the Temple lights at the Salt Lake Temple since it was the last night before they turned them off. It was so crowded! We had to stand in line for over 30 min just to go up and see the statue of Jesus, and Carter was so excited to see Jesus, so we couldn't just leave,  ya know?

We parked at the Mall by the Temple, and it is so pretty there! Love that place.

Carter and I being silly

Carter checking out Jesus. Love this pict.

He took his beanie off while we were waiting in line. . . can we say hat hair? ha ha. I couldn't make it stay down!
